Dear KSBO Bowler,

It was a beautiful fall day as forty bowlers showed up at Laurel Lanes on November 15th for the LONGHOUSE MARKET & DELI OPEN and the LAKESIDE INDUSTRIES 205 and under.

Nick Bachteler was the leader in the open division after the qualifying round. He shot games of 215-190-237-211-242 for 1095. Low to qualify and cash was 1019.

Tom Jamrog moved into the lead after the three games of semi-finals by shooting games of 188-203-279. These scores plus his 1079 qualifying and 90 bonus gave him a total of 1839. Behind him was Ryan Council 1812 (30), Jeremy Ellis 1808 (90), Nick Bachteler 1726 (30), and in fifth, Jimmie Dillingham 1712 (60).

The TV matches were some of the best overall that we have had in a long time. In the first match Nick came from behind to defeat Jimmie 257-232. The next match Jeremy doubled in the tenth to beat Nick 236-227. The following match Ryan had to double to defeat Jeremy. He got the first one but was unable to carry the second one as Jeremy defeated Ryan 222-220. The final match Jeremy struck out forcing Tom to double to win 231-229 earning his eighth KSBO title which puts him fourteenth in all time titles. Congratulations Tom.

In the under division Larry Eoff was the leader after the qualifying round. He shot games of 211-232-191-153-197 for 984. Low to qualify was 911 and low to cash was 901.

Chuck Ludwig took over the lead after the three games of semi-finals by shooting games of 214-201-211 winning all of them. These scores added to his 946 qualifying gave him a total of 1662. Behind him was Darrell Scott 1623 (60), Larry Eoff 1593 (30), and Bob Greenwalt 1535 (60).

In the first match of the TV finals Bob defeated Larry 215-191. Darrell then beat Bob 177-169. Chuck won the championship match over Darrell 201-182 for his second under title of the season. Congratulations Chuck.

The high game out of the money in the open division was a 266 by Mike Ramey. He receives a free entry into his next singles tournament. The high games out of the money in the under division was a 247 by Zack Cox. Since Zack is a junior bowler $60 will be sent to the SMART scholarship fund in his name.

The KSBO would like to thank Jerry Allen from Longhouse Market & Deli and George Peabody from Lakeside Industries for sponsoring this tournament. It is really appreciated and we look forward to having them back again next season. I hope that everyone was able to read the article about Lakeside in our current fall newsletter as they were our sponsor in the spotlight.

The next tournament is the thirty-second annual doubles tournament. It will be held at Hi-Joy Bowl on December 6th. This year’s tournament is dedicated to one of our bowler’s/sponsors that we lost last year. It is the LARRY BROWN MEMORIAL. The cap is 416 based on the highest bowl.com average from last season. The entries are coming in but if you haven’t turned yours in yet you can email me at moc.elbacevaw|ffoea#moc.elbacevaw|ffoea or call me at 373-3771 with your entry. You can enter that day but averages need to be verified so earlier is better. The cost is $75 for all members and $85 for guests. Remember you can bowl as a guest as many times as you like until you cash. Then you must join ($45) the next tournament that you bowl. Check in is at 10:30 with qualifying starting at Noon.

This is also our Toys for Tots event. The KSBO has been involved with this program since 1985 and we have raised $13,518.00 so far. We are asking everyone to bring non-perishable items and new toys or cash. We will be having some raffles also so you will be able to win something in return for your donation.

So, everyone grab a partner and join us at Hi-Joy on December 6th for one more tournament before our holiday break.
