Dear KSBO Bowler,

Fifty-seven bowlers showed up at All Star Lanes on October 18th for the KINGSTON COLLISION & GLASS OPEN and THE 19TH HOLE TAVERN 205 AND UNDER.

After the qualifying round, newcomer Ryan Council was the leader in the open division. He shot games of 268-233-246-223-202 for 1172. Low to qualify was 1000 and low to cash was 985.

Ryan continued to lead after the three games of semi-finals. He added games of 247-257-162 plus sixty bonus pins to give him a grand total of 1898. Behind him was Mike Ramey 1834 (60), Dean Richards 1797 (60), Jeremy Sears 1777 (60), and in fifth, Nick Bachteler 1753 (60).

In the first match of the TV finals Nick defeated Jeremy 189-153. Dean then beat Nick 279-197. Mike took care of Dean in the semi-final match 245-183. A must strike in the tenth frame in the final match gave Ryan his first KSBO title defeating Mike 201-195. Congratulations Ryan.

In the under division Preston Carson was the leader after the qualifying round. He shot games of 201-192-189-231-193 for 1006. Low to qualify was 940 and low to cash was 920.

Preston remained the leader after the three games of semi-finals by shooting games of 221-213-203 and winning two of them. This gave him a total of 1703. Behind him was Brandon VanWinkle 1679 (60), Darrell Scott (60), Jessica Sutton 1578 (60), and in fifth, Rick Thorene 1556 (30).

In the first match of the TV finals Jessica squeaked by Rick 217-216. She then beat Darrell 209-161 and Brandon 193-176. However, the final match belonged to Preston as he earned the under title by shooting 254 to Jessica’s 206. Congratulations Preston.

The high game out of the money in the open division was a 247 by Jamie Watson. Larry Herendeen shot a 234 which was the high game out of the money in the under division. They each receive a free entry into their next singles tournament.

The next KSBO is the first two-day tournament of the season. The QUAD SWISS is November 1-2 at Hi-Joy Bowl. It is sponsored by HI-JOY BOWL/ARTISAN TILE & MOSAIC. The cap is 832 for this tournament. I don’t even have ten teams yet but I know that there are many of you who have a team that haven’t let me know yet. If you are looking for a bowler or want to bowl let me know. You can also check our website for bowlers. As we here of them we will update the website. The cost is $80 for members and $90 for guests. You bowl six games head to head each day. Check in will start at 10:00 with the first game beginning at Noon on Saturday. On Sunday we will start at 9 AM.

This tournament generates a lot of side action as well as the main bowling. We have senior and under sweepers for a one time entry of $10. We also have a high series pot for a one time entry of $20. There is also doubles side pots. These you enter each day and are $5 per person. Of course we don’t want to forget all of the brackets.

As you can see there are quite a few ways to make money. But most of all it is a great tournament and a lot of fun to bowl. So I will see you all at HI-JOY BOWL ON NOVEMBER 1ST!!
