Results LONGHOUSE MARKET & DELI OPEN - LAKESIDE INDUSTRIES - November 14, 2015

The weather wasn’t the greatest but it didn’t stop forty bowlers from traveling to Laurel Lanes for the LONGHOUSE MARKET & DELI OPEN on November 14th. The 205 and under was sponsored by LAKESIDE INDUSTRIES.

Mike Ramey was the leader in the open division after the qualifying round. He shot 204-250-244-235-211 for 1144. Low to qualify and cash was 989.

Nick Bachteler moved into the lead after the three games of semi-finals. He shot 214-242-207 winning all of them. These scores plus bonus added to his 111 qualifying gave him a total of 1864. Behind him were Lonnie Sharkey 1742 (30), Mike Hansen 1730 (60), Mike Ramey 1710 (30), and in fifth Tim Clemens 1708 (60).

In the first match of the TV finals Tim defeated Mike R. 225-187. The next match Tim beat Mike H. 236-195. He then went on to become the master of split conversions making several in the next two matches defeating Lonnie 184-162 and Nick 218-194 to earn his twelfth KSBO title. Great job Tim!

In the under division, Brandon VanWinkle was the leader after the qualifying round. He had games of 222-182-246-213-192 for 1055. Low to qualify and cash was 873.

Brandon remained in the lead after the three games of semi-finals by shooting 204-181-158 and winning two of them to give him a total of 1658. Behind him was Craig Wilkey 1573 (60), Bruce VanWert 1550 (90), Doc Patterson 1505 (30), Paul Andrews (45).

In the first match of the TV finals Doc defeated Paul 211-135. Bruce then beat Doc 194-186. The next match Craig defeated Bruce 191-127. He then went on to beat Brandon 207-181 for his second under title this season. Congratulations Craig. However, since Craig has earned two titles per our rules he is automatically moved up to the open division for the remainder of the season until the finals.

The high game out of the money was a 237 by Travis Darting in the open division and a 206 by Mike Green in the under division. They each receive a free entry into their next singles tournament.

The KSBO would like to thank Jerry Allen from Longhouse Market & Deli for sponsoring for the fourth time. We would also like to thank George Peabody from Lakeside Industries for sponsoring once again for the eleventh time. They are dedicated sponsors as both of them will be back again before the season is over. Seven Cedars Casino 205 and under is one of our tournaments in the second half of the season at Laurel and Lakeside Industries will sponsor twice more before the end of the season starting with the next tournament.

It is the thirty-third annual doubles tournament to be held at Hi-Joy Bowl on December 5th. As I stated previously it is sponsored by LAKESIDE INDUSTRIES. The cap is 416 based on the highest bowl.com average from the last season. I have some entries but I am sure there are many that haven’t turned theirs in yet so you can email me at moc.elbacevaw|ffoea#moc.elbacevaw|ffoea or call me at 373-3771 with your entry. You can enter that day but averages need to be verified so earlier is better. The cost is $75 for all members and $85 for guests. Remember you can bowl as a guest as many times as you like until you cash. Then you must join ($45) the next tournament that you bowl. Check in is at 10:30 with qualifying starting at Noon.

This is also our Toys for Tots event. The KSBO has been involved with this program since 1985 and we have raised $14,118.00 so far. We are asking everyone to bring non-perishable items and new toys or cash. We will be having some raffles also so you will be able to win something in return for your donation.

So everyone grab a partner and join us at Hi-Joy on December 5th for one more tournament before our holiday break.

SEE YOU AT HI-JOY BOWL ON DECEMBER 5TH FOR OUR TOYS FOR TOTS DOUBLES!!
